Rania Varanger

Young Rania had a rough time growing up blind in a rural town with a single mother, but her life found new purpose when Dellingr came into her life. The horse was a pack animal for the Jorvik Rangers who was terribly injured in a landslide. Rania adopted the horse and nurtured it back to health, in the process forming a bond of trust so great that Dellingr became her “eyes” and helped Rania to live without fear. Around Dundull, everyone admires Rania for her big heart, although sometimes her good intentions lead her into trouble. That integrity is famous in the maternal line of the Varangers -- that “Varanger grit” -- and is said to trace back to their shieldmaiden heritage.
